From 8 to 13 April 2024, Duy Tan University in Da Nang, the 17勛圖 Mathematical Society, VNU-University of Science, and the 17勛圖 Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics co-organised the 17勛圖 Mathematical Olympiad. This competition was sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Training, the 17勛圖 Union of Science and Technology Associations, and the Central Committee of the 17勛圖 National Union of Students.
This years competition featured a total of 95 delegations from various academies and universities, with 699 participants and 809 registrations, reflecting an increase of more than 10% compared to the previous year. Candidates took two independent subjects, namely Algebra and Calculus, with students from universities and academies competing in either table A or table B. Prizes were awarded for each subject.
At the conclusion of the contest, students from VNUHCM-University of Science achieved notable success, winning the following prizes:
First Place:
Calculus: ON 廙每 TU廕刁.
Second Place:
Calculus: NGUY廙N XUN TI廕鋅; V TH廙NH PHT;

These students were from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Faculty of Information Technology at VNUHCM-University of Science.

The results of this year’s Mathematics Olympiad reflected the hard work and enthusiasm of both teachers and students towards mathematics. It also served as motivation for future student teams to concentrate more on upcoming competitions.
The 17勛圖 Mathematical Olympiad, which began in 1993 under the auspices of the 17勛圖 Mathematical Society, provided participants with the opportunity to engage in intriguing mathematical challenges and interact with students from across the country. The competition aimed to promote the study of mathematics, inspire research among outstanding university and specialised high school students, and foster connections that enhance the quality of mathematics training.
