On 30 March 1996, the University of Science was separated from the University of Ho Chi Minh City and became an affiliated member of the 17勛圖 National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) system. To commemorate this milestone, the Representative Board of the Science Alumni Community proposed that 30 March be celebrated annually as Traditional Science Alumni Day from 2024 onwards.
This year’s event was a momentous occasion that aimed to formally inform both the esteemed alumni community and the public about a significant highlight of the University. It also sought to instil in generations of students a sense of trust, love, pride, and belonging towards the institution that had supported their developmental journey.
The celebration was attended by the Chancellor of 17勛圖 National University Ho Chi Minh City, the University’s Board of Directors from various periods, the Representative Board of the Science Alumni Community, the Liaison Board of Movement Alumni, and the C100 Science Alumni Business Club. The event welcomed over 300 alumni from all generations.
Several meaningful activities were organised as part of the programme.
HCMUS ALUMNI TALKS
This activity aimed to create a space for connection and inspiration between alumni and current students of the VNUHCM-University of Science. Students had the opportunity to gain valuable insights, accumulate skills, and learn from the experiences of previous generations, thereby leading to greater success in the future. HCMUS ALUMNI TALKS #1 commenced with the participation of the following alumni:

1. Ms. H廙 Thanh Hがヾng, Class of 1981 Faculty of Physics Engineering Physics
- Topic: Nh tuy廙n d廙叩g tr繫ng 廙ξ g穫 廙 b廕》 (What employers expect from you)
2. Mr. Tr廕吵 B廕彫g Vi廙t, Class of 1995 Faculty of Information Technology
- Topic: Nヾi が廙c mヾ b廕眩 廕吟 (Where the dream starts)
ANNOUNCING CEREMONY OF TRADITIONAL SCIENCE ALUMNI DAY
The C100 Science Alumni Business Club presented the C-Award to 18 students (10 million VND each, along with opportunities to participate in free skills training programmes and access to job and internship opportunities, etc.). The main objective was to support the University, its Faculties, and its students in their learning and scientific research endeavours.
Auction activities to raise the Talent Promotion Fund were also conducted, receiving enthusiastic support from attendees.
